    HOME :: REMAINDER :: SISTERHOOD

    You might recognize some of the text in this site from somewhere else... and there's a good reason for that. You see, before this site was put up, it was known as The Dark Dome. TDD was a lovely shrine to Sailorpluto, which resided on Geocities for just under a year. And, after that one glorious year, TDD was bestowed upon me, thanks to a dear friend of mine, Serra Chase.

    Serra was one of my dearest friends during my early days online... she was not a sister by blood, but she was, quite possibly, the closest thing to a sister that I'd ever had at the time I knew her. She was a friend, a mentor, a helping hand, and a million other things that I can't even begin to list. Our theory is that we were separated at birth, and led our own separated lives. Of course, I'd LIKE to think that because she's like 5'10" and completely gorgeous... hey, I can dream, can't I?

    Serra and I met under rather strange circumstances... I was serving my time as a Geocities Community Leader, when I was called in to moderate a minor dispute between two webmasters, one of which was Serra. In the end, we all got the issue resolved, and not only did they both become awesome friends, but I also got to be good friends with the both of them. Serra and I started e-mailing each other by the pantload, and we became really tight friends.

    From then on, we told each other our problems, shared thoughts, and aired out opinions. I critiqued her fan fiction, she taught me weird tricks with PSP that made me into a more kick-ass graphic designer. (although still not nearly as kick-ass as her ^_-) Our odd tastes and idiosyncracies were almost eerily in-synch, and we shared so many of the same problems that we reached a certain level of understanding, even though our lives were so different in some ways.

    Things went on like this until the following June, when Serra graduated from her senior year at boarding school. She went home, got a job, and was suddenly busy with something... I don't know if it was work, college, or the million dates that I always told her she'd start getting one day... but she was barely ever online anymore, and the e-mails became fewer and farther between.

    Finally, sometime a few months later, Serra e-mailed me, and she asked me if I wanted to be the proud owner of a ready-made Pluto shrine. She was offering me her web site, to re-vamp, re-write, and re-structure however I wanted, because she didn't have the time, stability, or motivation to deal with it anymore. I was honoured that she thought I was worthy and capable of taking over her site, so I accepted, and told her that I'd do my best.

    And now, probably at least a year later, I finally got that inspiration that I needed, and this site is here. I've re-designed all over it, re-written some of it, and left some of Serra's original writings in tact. And I wrote this in her honour, because I know that I'll remember the fun we had when she was around. It's been one heck of a time since you left, Serra-berra, but you're terribly, terribly missed by those who knew you!
